New Mandatory Federal FLSA and EPPA Poster Updates

August 1, 2016: The Department of Labor (DOL) has updated two mandatory federal posters. Employers will need to post new versions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) postings as of August 1.

Multiple changes have been made to both Mandatory posters:

  • Removed fine amounts that will become outdated on August 1, when increased fines and civil penalties go into effect
  • The revised FLSA aka Minimum Wage poster has added information about independent contractors and nursing mothers

·  The FLSA poster now prominently displays the posting requirement. The phrase "The law requires employers to display this poster where employees can readily see it" has been moved to the top of
the poster.

Employers must display revised posters as of August 1, 2016.
