Re: Walmart June 28 Open Call
I encourage your MEP to help local companies propose more U.S. products at the Walmart June 28 Open Call. Walmart has committed, over the ten years ending in 2023, to purchase an incremental $250 billion of U.S. products that are new or that replace imports.
The U.S. has made good progress since 2000, with reshoring and FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) announcements of thousands of companies totaling over 300,000 manufacturing jobs. The Walmart commitment, alone, will create 250,000 to 300,000 manufacturing jobs.
Help your companies get a piece of the Walmart action. Distribute or post the Walmart Invitation. Use our free online TCO Estimator to help companies quantify the hidden costs of offshoring so they determine which products they can reshore profitably. Provide your lean and technology support to help the companies achieve a total cost advantage vs. offshore products.
Business requires a motivated seller and a motivated buyer. The Walmart U.S. Manufacturing program provides the buyer. I urge you to provide the willing sellers on June 28.

With nearly 2.5 million manufacturing workers set to retire by 2025, the ongoing skill shortages could leave up to two million jobs unfilled. A new partnership between Rockwell Automation and ManpowerGroup will look to upskill 1,000 veterans per year...
The challenge that I hear by far the most often is some form of “I would love to grow our business, but how do I find, hire, and retain good employees.” Until now, there has been little that anyone could do to meet this challenge.
