Serve with Us

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Gamma Sigma Sigma at Western Kentucky University. Our Beta Sigma Chapter was chartered at WKU on November 17, 1968  by 21 students. At that time, our organization provided a unique opportunity for women from different backgrounds to serve the campus and Bowling Green community. Currently, our chapter is small in number, but we are mighty and looking forward to growing during the 2019-20 academic year. If you are interested in becoming a members of Gamma Sigma Sigma in the Beta Sigma Chapter, we would like to connect with you. Drop  your information in our interest form so we know the best way to contact you.

Friendship & Equality

Connect with us

Members of Gamma Sigma Sigma often plan socials and attend events together to build upon the ideas of service, friendship, and equality in the sorority. Our organization is open to students with a desire to serve, lead, and impact the community regardless of their race, gender, or socio-economic background.

National History

Gamma Sigma Sigma was founded in New York City on October 12, 1952 by representatives from seven colleges and universities within six service organizations who wanted to unite for a national service sorority. Since then, Gamma Sigma Sigma has spread across the county with approximately 80 collegiate and alumni chapters.

Our sorority commits to creating and engaging in opportunities to serve on campuses and in the community to address local, national, and global needs. Gamma Sigma Sigma’s vision is for members to demonstrate the capacity for and lifelong commitment to service and leadership. We values unity, leadership, diversity, partnership, and compassion.

Unity is not just a motto; Gamma Sigma Sigma encourages its members and chapters to join together in the spirit of service. Gamma Sigma Sigma provides opportunities for members to learn and develop as leaders. Our sorority promotes diversity in service and membership. We value partnerships locally and nationally for the progression of the sorority and the communities in which we service. Through it all, Gamma Sigma Sigma shows compassion in improving the quality of life in our communities.
