Continuing Education Units

A Continuing Education Unit (or CEU) is a nationally recognized measure of participation in approved programs from institutes of higher learning for a non-credit course of study, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.

T/TAS offers low-cost CEUs through Western Kentucky University for all of our training, whether in a local setting, a state or regional venue, or a national event.T/TAS can arrange for CEUs to be awarded for training conducted by your local program, grantee agency, cluster event, state or regional association meeting, or national conference.

By awarding Continuing Education Units through Western Kentucky University, T/TAS:

  • Provides a nationally recognized record of professional development learning activity.
  • Encourages adult students to utilize educational resources to meet their personal educational needs.
  • Recognizes individuals that continue their education and keep themselves current in their chosen professions.
  • Provides a system to document continuing education experiences in meeting certification requirements.

CEUs are awarded on request after completing a course or training. The WKU Office of Continuing Education maintains a permanent record of CEUs and can provide official transcripts as needed.  Participants may earn .1 CEU for each hour of training completed.  For instance, if a T/TAS event includes 9 contact hours of training, participants can earn .9 CEU; 13 contact hours of training would earn 1.3 CEUs.

Contact T/TAS to learn how T/TAS can certify your training for CEU credit.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

Continuing Professional Education (or CPE) demonstrates ongoing professional development activities that are required for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

T/TAS provides CPE forms to all participants in fiscal and financial management. The forms document the specific training topic and the number of training hours completed and, once signed by the presenter, may be placed in the CPA's training portfolio to document continuing education for meeting certification requirements.
