Membership


The WKU Financial Management Association (FMA) is open to all students who are interested in finance, investing, and professional development. Whether you are exploring the field or preparing for full-time recruiting, FMA provides the tools, connections, and experience to help you stand out.


Why Join FMA?


Membership benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Exclusive networking opportunities with finance professionals, alumni, and recruiters through speaker events, firm visits, and networking sessions

  • Early consideration for FIN 449 (Practicum in Portfolio Management), with select seats reserved for qualified FMA members who apply early

  • Access to internship and job opportunities shared directly with FMA members

  • Peer-to-peer and alumni mentorship, offering guidance on coursework, recruiting, and career paths

  • Leadership opportunities within the organization to develop management and communication skills

  • Professional development workshops, including résumé reviews, interview preparation, technical finance training, and recruiting strategy sessions

  • Graduation cords recognizing active participation and commitment to the organization

FMA is ideal for students interested in:

Students of all majors and class standings are welcome. First- and second-year students are especially encouraged to join early to maximize networking and recruiting preparation opportunities.


Membership Expectations


To maintain active membership, students are required to:

  • Attend at least two meetings per semester

  • Pay $10 dues, per semester
