Strategy Tips - Partnerships

40th Anniversary Strategy Tips from T/TAS Specialists

Partnerships

Partnerships

  1. Staff members within each program need to work together as one unit; people within the community easily detect when staff are going their own way and not speaking with one voice.

  2. A good partnership has shared ideals, but a great partnership shares ideas, collaborates, and each party comes to the table open and ready without underlying agendas.
  3. When it comes to nutrition services, be cautious about partnering with entities whose purpose includes product endorsement—and this is especially true if the product is a food or beverage of less-than-ideal nutritional value.
  4. A partnership is a mutually beneficial relationship. Some are strong and formal; others are occasional and informal. Partners should share your interests and, most importantly, your values. If both partners
are not benefiting from the relationship, the partnership is not sustainable. Remember, a partnership is a relationship: Date around until you find the one(s) with whom you are compatible. And remember,
that you don't have to marry everyone you date!
