History of T/TAS
History of T/TAS
Since 1973, Training & Technical Assistance Services (T/TAS) has been a leading provider of comprehensive Head Start technical assistance and professional development training in all program content areas for the Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, and human services communities.
T/TAS has managed over $75 million in state, regional, andFederal training and technical assistance grants since 1973, including administering:
- A Head Start Leadership Development Program,
- A Head Start State Training Office,
- A three-state Head Start Resource Support Center,
- A Head Start Teaching Center,
- A regional Technical Assistance Support Center for Head Start,
- A regional Head Start Resource Center, and
- Two Head Start Quality Improvement Centers.
In 2003, after 30 years as a highly successful, Federally-funded Head Start and Early Head Start provider, T/TAS was transformed as a private, non-profit provider. Because T/TAS no longer receives Federal T/TA funding, the range and depth of our services exceeds the scope of the national T/TA contracts. T/TAS works for YOU; our sole focus is to act in YOUR best interests. Our comprehensive, proactive, and confidential services can help assure your program's future success.
Backed by the resources and support of Western Kentucky University, T/TAS remains an authority on Head Start and early childhood issues, program and fiscal management, and family and community partnerships. Each of the experts at T/TAS has a comprehensive background in one or more disciplines and is available to provide educational opportunities and assistance to caregivers, teachers, managers, administrators, and parents on a variety of topics.
T/TAS also administers local Head Start/Early Head Start grants and fee-based and subsidized child care programs through the WKU Child Care Center, providing on-campus services to the families and children of Bowling Green, Kentucky. We also manage an Early Head Start delegate agency through Murray Head Start, serving infants, toddlers, and families in Western Kentucky (most recent WKUCCC Annual Report). Since 1993, T/TAS has also administered a highly successful state-funded Child Care Resource and Referral agency, providing child care referrals to families in a 10-county area and providing training to area early childhood programs and child care providers.
Because we are an active service provider, T/TAS has an intimate understanding of the demands, challenges, and intricacies of providing consistent, quality child and family services. You can be assured that the support we provide is anchored in real-world experience and tested, refined, and proven other time.
T/TAS offers a wide range of high-quality, responsive, and cost-effective training, including pre-service and in-service training for local programs or clusters; program governance training; training for program leadership, policy councils, boards, and associations; and college credit, continuing education credit, and college classes for associations, clusters, and local programs. We also provide comprehensive technical assistance in all areas of program operations, including program design and management, education and child services, program evaluation and monitoring, research and strategic planning, fiscal management, and much, much more.
T/TAS is your Partner in Quality. We provide Training and Technical Assistance that works for YOU!
