PRIDE - Preliminary Review In Determining Effectiveness
Few events in the life of a Head Start or Early Head Start program create as much concern or consternation as the Federal On-Site Monitoring Review. T/TAS pioneered pre-review consultation in the 1970s and has been helping programs conduct self-assessments and prepare for Federal reviews ever since. Today, T/TAS is your exclusive source for a Preliminary Review In Determining Effectiveness, or PRIDE. Through this unique service, we bring a team of experts into your agency to assess your program's overall effectiveness and to help you, your staff and parents prepare for a Federal monitoring review.

A PRIDE team targets one or more of the service areas in your program, providing direction and suggestions for helping you enter your Federal review on the right foot, with the right attitude, and with confidence and competence.
You select which areas the PRIDE will target, including Program Design and Management; Early Childhood Education; Child Health and Nutrition; Family & Community Partnerships; Disabilities Services; Mental Health; and Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA). If you choose, the team will review your files to identify any gaps that should be filled before your actual Federal review occurs.
PRIDE reviews afford grantees the opportunity to identify problems, make adjustments, and address challenges prior to the monitoring review. Programs also benefit from the PRIDE's ability to make staff, parents, and community partners more comfortable with the review process. Our team takes your team through all the steps of the Federal monitoring review process.
We help you prepare; we help you practice; we clarify the monitoring protocol; we provide guidance on the entrance meeting; we explain how to use the compliance questions as checklists and observation instruments; and we answer your questions and de-mystify the review process. The result: A Positive Federal Review.
Many programs attribute the success of their Federal review to their participation in a PRIDE visit. As always, the experts of T/TAS are available after the PRIDE to provide additional support and guidance. Protect your funding with a solid investment in assessing your program's services and quality.
