ESEA Reauthorization
As the Senate Committee on Health Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) prepares to take up legislation reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), FFYF strongly supports enhancing the nation's education law to better integrate early learning and K-12 education. On Monday, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan called for new pre-K and early learning improvements in the ESEA reauthorization. FFYF Executive Director Kris Perry was in attendance for the Secretary's remarks and issued as statement calling on the Administration and Congressional leaders to use early childhood education as an area of bipartisan agreement in what could potentially be a very difficult bill.
