Census 2020 - the latest population data
Hello,
We're excited to let you know that we've got the latest Census 2020 data available in our (Sparkmap) Map Room. Notably, in this latest census, the Census Bureau is excited to report greater accuracy in race/ethnicity counts based on a redesign of the relevant census questions.
• What data are available and how can I get them?
Data released (so far!) from the 2020 Census includes total population counts for each race/ethnicity and counts for those individuals over the age of 18.o Population Change by county: zoom into your location and see what's changed
o Population Change by census tract: don't forget to click on the map to see the data details!
o Population race/ethnicity breakouts: available in the Map Room. Get started with Population Not Hispanic or Latino by county (you can also select state, census tract or block group).
o For all Census 2020 data, visit the Map Room, and search for "census 2020" (when searching/adding data layers)• When will the rest of the data be released?
o We hope that more data will be released by the Census Bureau in early 2022!
• How can I learn more about this release and Census 2020 changes?
o Visit (and bookmark!) the Census 2020 Data Release page: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial-census/decade/2020/2020-census-results.html
o For more information about the race/ethnicity changes, see the relevant Census Bureau press release.Do good things!
