What Are Open-Ended Questions? Open-ended questions are those that do not have one correct response and that require more than a one-word answer. Open-ended questions support concept development, quality of feedback, and language modeling.
T/TAS is providing a complimentary handout that provides a brief overview of using open-ended questions and its benefits.

Using open-ended questions is one of many strategies that can be used to promote the three Dimensions of Instructional Support: Concept Development, Quality of Feedback, and Language Modeling. You can enhance your understanding of instructional support by attending the T/TAS training, Beyond All Expectations: Instructional Support Comes Alive, October 13-14 in Denver, Colorado.
Presented by Dr. Connie Jo Smith, Instructional Design Specialist, and Luis Hernandez, MA, Early Childhood Education Specialist, Beyond All Expectations is an interactive training opportunity specifically designed for those responsible for ensuring that classroom staff are successful in the domain of instructional support, and others who are interested in teaching strategies to help children reach their full potential.
